Let me preface this with the fact I don’t watch a lot of
college basketball. It is terrible. When I do, it’s usually to watch a guy that
will be playing in the NBA the following year. With that said, I compared our
two teams to the two teams in the Championship Game on Monday night. As you
read this, remember that I have only watched a couple of games this year and
been in the tournament. I assume most of you are the same. Enjoy!
Villanova – Team Koala
Wilson – Kris Jenkins
– A guard/forward hybrid who can knock down the 3. Both create a lot of trouble
for the other team as they are tough to match up with. Neither are going to
dominate on D but will be able to hold their own.
BC – Daniel Ochefu
– Best big man for Villanova like BC is the best big man for Team Koala. Both
will be leaders on both ends of the floor. I think Ochefu is the key to Nova to
have a shot at winning Monday night. I also think BC is going to be the key for
our team.
Koala – Josh Hart
– Hart is the top scorer for Villanova and I think Beas will be our leading
scorer. Shoots the ball very well and takes the ball to the hoop consistently. Both
have potential to have monster games.
Dan the MAN – Ryan Arcidiacono – The leader
for the Koalas gets the comparison to the heart of Villanova. Arch plays lock
down D and is the distributor for the Cats like DK.
TP – Darryl
Reynolds – A big man who rebounds and defends for the Wildcats is the role that
TP will be playing. If TP can be as efficient as Reynolds it would be a huge
boost towards a victory for our team.
AHop – Mikal Bridges
– Long player that defends multiple positions. Not a great shooter but finds
ways to score.
Godon - Jalen Brunson
– A good role player that can be a spark for his team. Brunson is a team player
that brings a lot to both ends of the floor but won’t get the attention that
his teammates get. Gritty player and Rainbow could fill that role perfectly
UNC – Comeback Kids
Sabin – Justin Jackson
– He draws this comparison because he is a big guard that is an excellent
shooter but also a good finisher. Sabin, like Jackson, brings a complete game
to his team. Rebounds, defends, and can create on offense.
Doctor – Marcus Paige
– A high scoring guy that likes to handle the basketball. Deep range for both.
Both defend well. Most the offense of UNC starts with Paige, will the same be
true for the Comeback Kids?
Abe – Brice
Johnson – One of the best players in the NCAA and the best player in PCTI.
While Johnson doesn’t have the bulk that Abe does, both are good scorers and
both rebound well. When these guys are on, they don’t lose very often.
Bruiser – Kennedy
Meeks – A big body that takes up space and can score down low when he gets
position. An above average rebounder that can defend down low. Excel when they
are burying their defenders.
Spotlight – Joel Berry
II – One of the smaller players on the court, but contributes a lot to his
team. Both move very well without the ball. Both are knock down 3 point
shooters. Not the biggest star on the team, but could be the pivotal player.
Donley – Isaiah Hicks
– Very much like his bash bro Bruiser, a big body that can score down low.
Hicks and Donley are a little more athletic and versatile than Meeks and
Bruise. Both are tough to keep off the glass.
Wes – Luke Maye –
Could this be Wes in the Box’s stat line for PCTI7?

Great post! I have to admit, this post told me more about college basketball than I have watched in 5 years.
ReplyDeleteLove this... Only wish I knew anyone on either team... At least I have motivation to watch the game.
ReplyDeleteLove this as well. I only know Archidiackino because he wears an arm sleeve.
