Before diving into each player, I will say this is the most effort I've heard the group has put in this far out...
Below are PCTI9 Offseason Regimen Power Rankings:
- Michael Beastley: Fresh off a personal best deadlift, the designer Beast is on a 6 day a week, high T workout program. Beast Light has been active and strong in the PCTI training camp games, and is clearly winning the offseason. One question to look out for--has he lifted his way into a positional identity crisis?
- Juice Godon: PCTI Nashville's session MVP, the Juice Man continues to improve his craft as a high energy, out of but totally in control player with a dead eye shot and deep range. He continues to put the time in and has added strength to go along with his world class stamina.
- Deuce Hite: Simply put, the guy looks bigger, stronger, faster, better every single year.
- Kyle Hutchins: Not sure what his usual regimen looks like, but chiseled out of stone and in great hoops condition... Has all sorts of moves in his aresenal and can beat you in many ways. THE BEST BIG IN PCTI.
- Tyler Powell: Always in great physical condition, TP has added a 3 point shot to his arsenal, which will be good since his captain is losing sleep over his squad's need for a point guard.
- Jeff Sabin: Coming off an MVP campaign, Sabin is hungrier than ever. Under 200 lbs for the first time since PCTI2, he has dedicated himself to an improved, no protein diet and Cross Fit workouts. Expect the high strung, unlikable, Sabin we have sorely missed the last seven years.
- Hops: PCTI Nashville showcased a Hops that's put in gym time, stronger than ever combining that with his already underrated height and length... After a near double double average in PCTI8 and not missing a shot in Nashville, Hops looks poised for a big PCTI9.
- Actor Thompson: Never one to reveal much, if I say anything positive about Act I'll lose my credibility with him.... Forever. That said, he played incredible in PCTI Santa Monica, but has since injured his MCL which will ruin anything positive he has done. After being disrespected in the draft, it's a shame his knee will not allow him to use the bulletin board material Sabin handed him on a silver platter.
- Scotty D: Always one to keep himself in tip top condition, there's never going to be much fluctuation in SD's prep. That said, there will be some buzz closer to time as to how a new city, a new born, a year away from PCTI, and a BUSY job will effect his performance.
- Abe Stephen: I make a PCTI Denver trip twice a year, most recently in September... Naturally, Abe was the best player on the floor, but also had not touched a ball since PCTI. Always in good condition, but no work had been done to further improve himself. Whether or not the addition of Kyle will motivate him remains to be seen.
- Spotlight Higdon: Buying Spotlight stock in PCTI3 would be like investing in the perfect blue chip stock. Steady climb in share price every with increasing dividends. Every year his performance got better, and he added new ways to hurt you into his arsenal... Then he ran a 5K and like all good things, the market took a slight dip. There is not much buzz around Spot's offseason outside of a new born, so a lot of questions remain.
- Smo Orr: Nothing good comes from critiquing Smo's offseason outside of me getting trashed behind the scenes, so all I'll say is he's played more this offseason than last, and when he did, he blocked 70% of the shots I took.
- Ben Wilson: Original thought was the weight melting off of him was from increased work in the gym, until PCTI Nashville yielded news that he was out for months from a finger injury and took that opportunity to do nothing. The good news is Ben's game looked great, and there is plenty of time to go before 9.
- DTB: Offseason was going well until the flu took me down for a month... Once I started getting my strength back, I messed up my wrist and have since spiraled out of control.
- Sticky Van Horne: Coming off his best year since PCTI2, Sticky has dedicated himself to staying out his usual spot in the PCTI spotlight, and has given me nothing to work off of for the first time since inception. Known for his crash training sessions, there's no reason to think he's doing much at this point.
- Smooth Cibotti: Fresh off a two week alcohol bender where he drank every night and didn't move, Smooth's stock is plummeting after his best month of hoops in the last three years. Constantly battling blood clots and diabetes scares, there's no telling if he will be able to bounce back. One thing I do know is the guy loves his back against the wall, so he's put himself in the perfect position.
- The Beast Carney: Man, where do we start? One of the most tumultuous off-seasons I can remember. After guaranteeing he would be adding 27 pounds to his frame come PCTI9, he's battled multiple sicknesses, weight loss, and most recently got himself involved in a performance enhancing drug scandal that has forced him away from pre-workout drinks (true story). Nashville showed The Beast is still very effective on the court, but that he's gone back to his ways of mental instability, and clearly had a bone to pick with Beast Light, Juice and DTB. He's had some brief moments of enthusiasm, but it quickly disappears. At this point, all that's known is The Beast has a lot of work to do to fulfill his offseason commitments.
You think you're funny, Dan? REAL funny DAN.
ReplyDeleteAlso no chance that Act knee injury is anything than him acting on you.
ReplyDeleteI feel like smooth isn’t getting credit for his late night workouts between the sheets.
