PCTI/Famous TV (Movie) Athlete Comparisons Part 1

I don't think it's any secret I enjoy comparing, evaluating, and discussing people.  I did it with wrestlers, attempted to do it with wild animals (but had to quit because it took too much brain power), and now will be doing it with famous TV/movie roles played by specific actors (or actresses).  Not sure how many parts this will take me to complete, but let's begin...

Josh Pitto-YaYa, Sandlot.

Skilled, smart player with a mouth that never seems to stop.  Similar in stature, both guys bring value on the court, and if you get annoyed by something, he is an easy candidate to yell at.  The real life YaYa got caught up on steroids and is now in jail.

Anthony Hopkins-Rube Baker, Major League 2.

Never going to be the most talented guy on his team, but players rally around his passion and enthusiasm for the game, and both seem to have the knack for coming up big in clutch situations.  Let's not forget Rube's speech that rallied his team in game 2 of a double header, one that appears strikingly similar to the way Hops rallied his team in PCTI3 Game 2.

Stickman Van Horne-Tim Riggins, Friday Night Lights.

Two good ol' boys that love to hit, be physical, and DRINK BEER.  They both have the fact that neither like to practice in the offseason in common, and the closest you will see them come to preparation for an athletic event is pre-game warm ups.

Joe Thompson-Rod Tidwell, Jerry Maguire

You can't help but to wonder how good these two could be if they didn't spend half the game in front of the camera.  Both spend equally as much time complaining about their contracts, discussing retirement, and acting like anyone cares about them. Couldn't you see Joe doing something similar to what Rod did below?

  1. 4 FOR 4. So far this is incredible. I can not wait for part 2 now.

  2. The Rod Tidwell comparison is genius. I actually hope Joe does this after we win a game.

  3. These are great. You need to go back and add more information about me though.
