WWJD?

What Would Joe Do on your standard Friday night in the City of Angels?  I was fortunate enough to be invited into his world during my recent visit, and to say I was in my element would be an understatement.  We just caught the beat and battle shuffled with some hipsters...not that big of a deal, you guys.  And by that I mean I just drank $7 dollhair beers and watched the Artist Formerly Known as the Doctor (now known as The Dancer) make it last all night long.  Best dance moves I've seen in a mighty long time.  DTOMFS, your claims are erroneous.

Post Scriptum:  Apologize for the sidewayzness, just work with it.  Couldn't upload it from my PC for some reason, so had to YouTube it.

So the London 2012 Summer Olympics have come to a close and the time has come to tally up the gold, silver, and bronze medal winners to determine an outright champion. This is the list of how top countries performed in the recent Olympics. The United States had an unbelievable showing as it dominated the swimming, track and field, and team sports competitions. The U.S. won the medal count by 17, and also won the race for gold medal supremacy by 8 over its next closest competitor. As such, the time has come to tally the final standings in the recent PCTI Olympics, in which competitors were judged on their abilities to perform actual Olympic events. Below is a list of PCTI players and their medal counts, along with commentary from the peanut gallery.

FAQs
1)      Who had the best summer? Abe. This is really not even that close. He led the league in medals won, had no DNQs for any event, and captained the winning team in PCTI III. That’s a pretty good summer by any standard.
2)      Who had the worst summer? Wes Castle. Like Abe’s medal championship, this is also not really close. Wes did not win any medals, DNQ’d in two separate events, and was arguably the least tenacious kitten on a team full of non-tenacious kittens.
3)      Beas and Spotlight tied for the next best individual performance in the Olympics. Who wins the tiebreaker? Spotlight edged out Beas for ROY in PCTI III by the slimmest of margins, but Beas returns the favor now. Although each earned 4 medals, Spotlight DNQ’s in 2 different events takes the luster off of his performance. Beas redeems his ROY loss to Spotlight with a stirring performance in this summer’s Olympics. And BC, before you try to make the argument that Beas hasn’t done anything yet in PCTI, just take a look at the medal count and see his name above yours.
4)      Who performed above expectations in this summer’s Olympics? It’s tough make a case against Smo in this spot. He captured 4 medals, all gold or silver with no DNQ’s. If BC had performed more consistently in the synchronized diving competition, he might have added one more gold to the tally. This momentum should lead him to a breakout PCTI IV performance.
5)      Who performed below expectations in this summer’s Olympics? Donley. After a breakout PCTI III performance in which he garnered AT status, and after having secured the greatest living nickname in PCTI, one would think the sky is the limit for this player-man. But after having lost the PCTI IV location sales competition and after bringing home no gold medals, this player-man must be disappointed in his summer’s results.
6)      Who was the most consistent performer? JT. A gold, silver, and bronze with no DNQ’s, all of which is topped off by an MVP performance in PCTI III.
7)      Who was the most inconsistent performer? Bruise and McKinney (tie). Bruise was gold or bust as he brought home two golds but DNQ’s in 3 separate events. He also punched a horse in the Equestrian event. McKinney showed great promise in the summer Olympics but was unable to translate his prodigious physical gifts into an abundant medal count.
Bob Costas Award: BC. Both are smooth talkers who have a gift for unflappability, calm demeanors, and hair that will not move under any circumstance.

On His Way Out?

Martinsburg Journal Reports:

It appears Wes Murray, one of the PCTI faithful's most scrutinized players in league existence, has emerged for the fourth straight off-season as a player who's future with the organization is in doubt.  Murray has been criticized in the past/present for lack of conditioning, lack of interest in the game of basketball, lack of access to email, and random disappearing acts that can last up to seven months.

Murray has come under fire this past off-season despite a breakout performance as a standout in the nightlife scene, carving out a nice niche as PCTI's resident cigar aficionado.  The standing ovation he received upon arrival in Plano had people wondering if being under fire was a thing of his past.  However, Murray made the mistake of making some remarks to fellow athletes, claiming his existence in the event only brings down the level of play, thus making it pointless for him to continue to show up.  After getting some negative responses from his fellow teammates, Murray made it known he wanted to set the record straight via the podcast.  However, due to what appears to be the world's busiest schedule, Murray could not carve out an hour any day of the week to put everyone's minds at ease about not only his future, but his commitment to improving.

The comments made by Murray have made the fellow PCTI brethren think long and hard about how to handle the unique situation of a player being too busy to exercise.  Claiming his lack of spare time to take care of himself will never change, PCTI members Stephen, Skillz and Krow took it upon themselves to verbally attack Murray, stating they are tired of his excuses and inability to put forth the proper effort to give his team the best performance possible.

Murray's future is clearly in doubt.  If history repeats itself, don't look for him to make any case that he should be a part of PCTIV.
